Buona sera! We have just returned from our almost 3 week trip. We had such a wonderful time, I don't think I will ever tire of the divine view of these splendid mountains.
The first week and a half we spent at our house, in our village. We paid our yearly taxes (under 300 euros) for the very first time! I was so excited, I spoke to the clerk in Italian (very shameful Italian- I am studying my Italian daily) and we received our brand new recycle bins! This makes me very happy, I am kind of weird that way. It makes me feel like we are one step closer to living there. Italy is faithful about this, they recycle everything. We took several trips to IKEA!, I will expound more on that at another time... Allora
We visited with many new friends eager to learn about us, and vice versa. Even though we have only known each other for a short time, it is strange how quickly we have all come to consider each other famiglia. We drove around, familiarizing ourselves with the surrounding towns, shopping, and comparing and contrasting different Supermercati (supermarkets). We thoroughly enjoyed having no where to go and no certain time to be there... this is the Italian life, La Dolce Vita!
The second part of our trip we zoomed up to Torino for some down time with our dear friend, Gorigio. Made a trip to our citizenship lawyer, then off to Rome for our last night.
We arrived home just in time to receive my first in print publication about our story on our first trip together to ITALIA... I'll post it below!
Alla prossima, a tutti!
Michelle
